  • Welcome to the blog!

    Hi! I'm Rachel and thanks for visiting my blog. It means a lot to me that something here has sparked your interest. Most of the items I post will be photography related. You know...weddings, family photo sessions, maternity/newborn, engagements and so on. I might sometimes tell you about my husband, whom I adore, my 2 dogs and a cat or my other crazy friends and family. I might also share with you some things going on in my life that hopefully you find interesting, or at the very least humorous, give some tips on being 'green', and definitely impart all my fun iPhone photo app images.
    If you are here and in need of a photographer, super! I can't wait to hear from you. Let's talk about plans for amazing locations, fun props, gorgeous lighting, and having a really great time creating the most memorable images :)

On to the New Year!! {christmas portrait revue}

Hello and Happy New Year to all! I wonder if everyone is playing catch up like I am? Take down the tree, clean the house, write thank-you’s, and oh…work! And on top of that, my dad cleaned out his attic this weekend and dropped off about 25 boxes labeled “Rachel”. Boxes from high school, college and Colorado. Cause, you know, I have tons of time to sort through that stuff! Anyway, keeps my life interesting. I wanted to share a personal post to start out 2012. Those of you that have had your portrait made and those of you who are behind the lens (such as myself) have pretty much seen it all. Jason and I have been sending out photo Christmas cards since we got married and I look forward to it every year. Him, not so much:)At first it was just us 2 and our boxer, Stella. Then we added a German Shepherd and a feral cat and oh, how life got so much more interesting! This year was the inaugural Vintage Portrait Project Christmas mini-session extravaganza and my partner and the most amazing designer ever, Stacy, convinced me that she could handle my camera and shoot our portrait for us. I would edit on my end later. I relented (the remote thing was getting tiring). This is the the evolution of the 2011 Wallace Christmas Portrait. Enjoy the hilarity down until the final image that made the cut…we always do!

If you can get past our silliness and note the fabulous design features…stay tuned. The next post will feature the best of 2011’s Christmas by The Vintage Portrait Project.

p.s. It would be awesome to have some new fans join me on Facebook for the new year! Click the link and then click ‘LIKE’:)xoxo

p.p.s. As always, feel free to leave comment love here on the blog!
